Vaughan Mason Dies at 69 years old
This news shocked me. Depending on what part of the 1980s you can remember. You will either remember this artist at the beginning of the 1980s or the end of the 1980s.
The reason why is that Vaughan Mason died on the 2ND April 2020, at the age of 69 years old.
His death was confirmed in a Facebook post by a friend of his called Shelia Ford, on that date - https://www.facebook.com/sheilafordmusic/posts/10159780748615898
One of the huge songs that he is remembered for (over in the UK and Europe more so, will is "Break 4 Love".
This song became a House music anthem and helped to spread the music's popularity across the UK and Europe.
The song was written, produced, and recorded by Vaughan Mason, the principal member of a house music group known as Raze, the song's original credited performer.
The song, the group's only significant US hit, featured vocals by Keith Thompson, and Bobby Coleman, and sexual sound samples by Erique Dial.
I remember that song from that year, as a music-loving friend urged me to listen to this single as soon as I could. "It was that good," he told me.
As Vaughan Mason's death was announced. The single " Break 4 Love has zoomed up the charts!

Break 4 Love also used what sounded like a woman having an orgasm. (* which was in fact that of actress Lorna Patterson from the 1980 movie Airplane!, when her character Randy is crying to Dr. Rumack (Leslie Nielsen) that she's 26 and has never been married!).

It must be stated that Vaughan Mason has already tried the path of creating, producing, and releasing House music singles with moderate success.
Early releases which included "Jack the Groove" and "Let the Music Move U", both came out in 1986 with moderate dance music success.
The single called "Jack the Groove" was one of the first house music hits within the UK, entering the Top 20 of the UK Singles Chart in January 1987.
Along with Steve "Silk" Hurley's Jack Your Body, which was released during the same month. HURLEYS' single went to No. 1in the UK Singles Chart, It was from that point that the music of House was to gain cult music status with the UK music-loving public during the late 1980s.

During the 1990s and early 2000s, Mason mostly remained as a producer and arranger, working with several other artists.
But he will be best known for his collection of songs from the 1980s. Myself, I will be honest with you. I missed the single from him called, “Bounce, Rock, Skate, Roll,” when it was originally released.
I must have been dreaming as this is a monster tune.
However, Break 4 Love - was the track for a lot of people that got them to fall in love with House music.
There are no reports at this moment suggesting that Mason passed away due to coronavirus.
Well, that's all folks for me now anyway.
